Join me to discuss "Remarriage in Early Christianity"
Or join another Winter Cohort with the Center for Evangelical Biblical Theology
If you enjoy discussing and learning about the Bible, then you should be aware of an amazing FREE opportunity from the Center for Evangelical Biblical Theology (CEBT). Did I mention that this is a FREE opportunity? (Okay, you have to buy a book to participate, but otherwise it is FREE!)
Over December and January, the CEBT is offering six online Winter Cohorts with top-notch biblical studies professors across the country (and also me). Each cohort will meet weekly on Zoom to discuss portions of a book related to Biblical Theology.
Two introductory cohorts will be discussing Ched Spellman’s One Grand Story: How the Bible Tells Its Story and Why It Matters. The four advanced cohorts will discuss Andrew Das’s Remarriage in Early Christianity. You do not have to start with the introductory cohort. You can jump in wherever you’d like.
My cohort will be reading Remarriage in Early Christianity. I’m excited to get to read this book in a group context. First off, Andrew Das is both an incredible scholar and person. He has written, in my opinion, the best commentary on Galatians, and he was also kind enough to endorse my book on Galatians as well as send me some private encouragement. In his scholarship, he is meticulous in the best sense of the word.
That he has written a book on the topic of divorce and remarriage is intriguing and will prove to foster important conversation with pastoral applications to the local church. At the end of the day, we may not all agree with his conclusions, but we will be better for having had the conversation.
So whether you are a seminary student, just a plain Bible nerd, or someone who wants to learn, join us for a CEBT Winter Cohort this December.
